About "Alpha Omega Publications" Answer

What is the best christianbased home-schooled curriculumfrom Alpha Omega Publications?
Horizons Switched-On Schoolhouse LIFEPAC
I threw the Lifepacs out the window, they taught bad academics and bad religion both. I don't know about SOS, but we did enjoy Horizons math. It is pretty good, but only goes to grade 6. Saxon Math is better though.
i might do homeschooling withAlpha Omega Publications/?
i am in 11th grade and i am behind on my credits and this is a way to get my credits up. my mom said that she thinks that it is a good idea. but recently we found out that my mom has MS and she has to like by all these medications and shots and stuff and so it cant be like expensive....please help me., i am tryin to find a job so i can help pay for it. and if it helps, i am 16....
We are homeschoolers and have some family members who use Alpha Omega Life Pacs. Her children are in high school. They really enjoy using them. The least expensive site I've found for ordering is www.pennywiselearning.com but if you go to the the alpah omega website they do offer some free on-line testing and sometimes they have specials on their products. e-bay is another good site to check for cheap stuff. Also, local home schoolers in your area may be able to help.
Help with Alpha OmegaPublication Lifepac Schedulefor 180 Day School Year?
I am home schooling my children. I have been using the AOP Switched On Schoolhouse in the past. That program scheduled what the assignments were to be each day so that you would be able to complete it within the 180 days of school. I have now decided to use the AOP Lifepac instead. (I ran into a problem last year with the computer crashing and losing all their school grades - so I have decided to go to workbook form.) Does anyone know the best way to schedule the Lifepacs to be completed in the 180 day school year? Does AOP sell an already made schedule for each day's lessons so that it can be completed in 180 days? It is very time consuming to figure out what to teach each day in these lifepacs and make sure that all the material is covered in a certain amount of days.
If you have Homeschool Tracker (basic or plus), you can download the lesson plans of other HST users for free at the Yahoo Groups for them. These are a great way to see how to sequence a course that has no schedule with it. Have you searched the 'net? I did that when starting Apologia because it was quite a mess to schedule also. If nothing else, just start breaking down the books by the days. For instance, if there are 10 books, then you need to do 5% of the course per day. Use Excel to lay out your calendar - it's going to depend on if you do a 5-day or 4-day week. Then see how many pages and/or sections each book has. Put those into cells and then divide them by week (36 weeks) then by day. So you'd have a list something like this: Week 1 Day 1 - Book 301 (3rd grade, 1st book) - Pages 1-12 Day 2 - Book 301 - Pages 13-18 ... ... ... Week 14 Day 1 - Book 306 - Pages 1-11 etc. I can't line it all up because I don't know how many days per week, or how many days a week a course is offered, etc. I would see if there are Lifepac Yahoo Groups where people have uploaded their lesson plans.
