Someone told me that they are
different and american express
is easier to get. I also heard
american express is more like
a debit card. I would like to
know because im thinkin bout
gettin one.
do you need a strong credit
history to get an american
express? It would be my first
credit card. |

The diference is that they
require you to have great

What is the difference betweenAmerican Express Blue and Bluesky? |
|
Hi-
I am trying to decide between
the American Express Blue
(which has membership rewards)
and Blue Sky (with travel
rewards). What's the
difference between the two?
With Blue, I can redeem for
other things beside travel.
But for blue sky, are we able
to redeem for airline tickets
with less points than we would
with membership rewards?
Thanks. |
 |
There is a huge difference
between the Blue and the Blue
Sky. The Blue card is not made
specifically for people
looking for airline rewards
while the Blue Sky is.
The Blue card's reward program
is the lower version of
Membership Rewards (which is
actually membership express).
In the membership rewards, you
earn one point for every
dollar you spend on the card
and you can convert one point
to one mile for most airline
partners. For the membership
rewards express program (ie
for the Blue Card), you cannot
transfer points to airline
partners but can instead use
them to redeem for airline
tickets.
The Blue Sky is different.
Rather than transfer points to
air miles, you simply find the
best deal, book the trip with
your Blue Sky card and you get
statement credits on your next
statements.
Point for point, the Blue Sky
is a better card for travel
(especially airline rewards)
than the Blue Card. |

How is American Expressdifferent from Visa orMastercard? |
|
I'm considering switching from
Visa to American Express,
because they are offering me a
much better APR. I'm wondering
if it's worth the switch. I'm
slightly confused on the
difference between an American
Express card and a Visa or
Mastercard. |
 |
The traditional American
Express card is technically a
"charge card," which means you
have to pay the entire balance
at the end of each month plus
an annual fee. The American
Express Blue cards operate
much like Visa and Mastercard,
in that you have the option to
pay a portion of your
cumulative bill at the end of
each month. All three cards
have limits, even AMEX. If you
don't want to pay an annual
fee in addition to paying the
entire balance off at the end
of each month, make sure to
sign up for the AMEX Blue
line. |
