Is living together consideredcasual? |
|
There's different definitions
of what a casual relationship
is, but if you're living with
someone and he's treating the
relationship as if it's a
casual one. As in he's lazy,
isn't talking about marriage,
still spends all night hanging
with his friends, can't keep a
job.
Is this relationship casual to
him or is considering this a
serious relationship. |
 |
It is casual to every man if
they are getting sex for free
(no compassion, no
sensitivity, no sense of
responsibility to you, etc).
You are worthless except for
the 5 minutes of the day he's
humping you. So, 23 hours and
55 minutes of the day - you
mean nothing to him. My
question is why you call that
a relationship, casual or not.
Don't doubt yourself that this
doesn't feel good. It
shouldn't feel good. Your
worth allot more than that. |

Big Screen TV in a ModestLiving Room? |
|
We just upgraded our TV to a
50" big screen. We have a very
modest and homey living room.
I don't know how it's going to
look. It's not one that stands
alone--we have to buy a stand
for it but I'm not too sure
how it's going to look. Any
ideas on making a big screen
fit in a warm and casual
living room?
If this helps we already have
a lot in the room. One lazy
boy, an over sized chair, an
oversized sofa (with
queen-sized bed), an upright
piano (cherry wood), DVD/CD
rack, and two large speakers
with surround sound. Our home
office is also a part of the
living room so it's pretty
much just a long room.
The color of the TV is black
where as all the other
furniture are more neutral
colors. Is there anyway to get
these piece to fit in or will
it always look like the odd
ball? Any ideas on stands? Our
home is anything but
contemporary but that |
 |
You can buy a wood
entertainment unit to fit
it... They can get expensive
and most will likely be larger
than you want... (Side
cabinets and all....)
Are you handy with tools &
wood? You can make the stand
from wood.
You want the base to be only
slightly larger than the TV.
Measure and make a pattern one
inch longer/wider in each
direction. You will need to
cut 2 from this pattern. One
will be the base, just an inch
or 2 off the floor, and the
other will be positioned at
the heighth you want the TV to
sit.
Decide how high you want the
stand. Add that height to the
height of the TV and add a few
inches for good measure. Cut 2
panels of wood this heighth,
and as wide as at least the
front depth of the TV. (It can
go back as far as the whole TV
if you desire...)
Cut another piece the width of
the side boards and long
enough to bridge over the TV
and connect the side boards.
Assemble and stain a color
that would compliment your
other colors. That makes it
not look as contemporary and
doesn't cost $2000.
Place the TV in it and
enjoy!!! |

What is the best decoratingtheme for a casual living roomwith an overstuffed denimcouch and light wood trim |
|
I am not a fancy person, but I
want a finished look. And the
homeowner won't let me paint
the window trim and the
molding. Any ideas on an easy
theme, or something to start
me off?
The house is on the edge of a
"country-like" setting you
could say, it has a brick
exterior and is one story. I
decided to go americana in my
bedroom, I have an offwhite
and blue plaid with red
accents in my kitchen, and the
living room attaches to the
kitchen. |
 |
Denim is a good basic and
lends itself to several
"themes". I like to take in
consideration the exterior
when beginning the interior.
Does the house or building
have a cottage feel and where
is the geographical locale?
Denim could be nautical,
western, or simply traditional
and cozy. If you do not care
for the trim, painting the
walls a close color like beige
or gold would allow trim to
"go away" rather than
contrast. Where as a white
would look fresh and emphasize
the trim. Take in
consideration adjacent rooms
when choosing a color so as to
flow well from one to another.
I'd be happy to continue with
more detail, if you'd like to
give more info. A print with
some red is a good place to
start. If you're open to
purchasing or recovering a
side chair or cushions for a
wooden chair look for a stripe
or paisley (since you don't
like fancy) with your red
accent and another color that
pleases you. Black iron in a
couple of accessories like
lamps, would be good. Things
to keep in mind to keep it
interesting are: a round shape
in a table or mirror, some
texture as in baskets or a
vase of twig arrangements |
