About "Computer Associates" Answer

What jobs can one get with anassociates in computerscience?
I have an arts degree but I want to do associates in computer and information technology as my degree is not recognized in US. Please tell me whether it would help me get a job later? What kind of jobs can one get with that. Would it be better to do associates in accounting or computers?
I'm a network engineer with 30 years of experience. A lot of people ask this question. The cold hard truth is, the computer industry is experience driven. not degree driven. The best thing for you to do is get your hands dirty with some real world experience. Technology changes very very fast. So fast that schools can't keep up, and in the technology field you can expect to need 80 to 160 hours of specialized training every year, and that training will come 8 hours a day for 2 to 4 weeks, not one class every three days for two years. When you go in to interview for any of these positions, they are going to have you take a real world test. They will hand you the hardware/software and give you a task to perform. The problem with schools is they work on theory, and outdated information. When you apply for a job, it is the results of your testing that will get, or keep you from getting that job, not your degree.
Why did you change the onlinesecurity from ComputerAssociates to the horribleNorton ? Norton sucks !?
I made the mistake of updating on my laptop and it ran terrible afterword, our office computer was also updated and hasn't worked right since. Fortunately our home desktop has not been updated to the stupid Norton and is still on the Computer Associated security and is working fine. A few years ago when we had Norton installed it also worked horribly. I think Norton needs to go back to their drawing board and revamp all their software!
I think ppl need to learn how to configure Norton. Norton is an excellent security program.
Why type of job can some oneget with an Associates inComputer Science?
Can some one please give me an idea of what type of job one can get if they have an associates in Computer Science?
Probably the common entry level point for computers is working on a help desk or on a hardware related job. Go get the COMPTIA A+ certification. The best way to get a job when you are starting out is to make friends with all the other attendees in your classes and hopefully have one of them help you to get a job where they eventually work. Also, if you take some college night classes you may run into people who are already employed in the field that can get you in somewhere. Remember that it is most important who you know and not what you know.
