About "EDGE" Answer

How do you determine the edgelength of a unit cell?
What if you don't know if the edge atoms touch or if the diagonals touch? UO2's structure doesn't appear to have either the edges or the diagonals touching so what formula can be used to relate the atomic radii of the U and O to the edge length of the unit cell?
If you consider the fluorite structure as being comprised of face sharing tetrahedra of OU4, you can calculate the distance between the uranium atoms along the diagonal of the unit cell. (Hint, just pretend it's an octahedron and calculate the diagonal of that, then use Py. Th. to get the U-U distance) The tetrahedron is drawn out in this page: http://www.chem.lsu.edu/htdocs /people/sfwatkins/ch4570/latti ces/lattice.html
What plastic edge trim to usewhen tiling over existingtile?
Can anyone comment on what plastic edge trim I should use when tiling over existing tile that already has a plastic edge trim? Is there any specialty trim that would cover the existing trim and the edge of the new tile (being laid over the old tile)? Thanks, PJ.
I have never heard of anybody tiling over existing tile. That is just plain wrong. When the old mortar wears off, both layers will pop loose. Unless there is damn good reason why you are doing it like that, I suggest you go do it right. Remove the tiles, replace the subfloor and retile again. I don't know what else to advise you!
