Shop Fox Table saw? |

I recently purchased a Shop
Fox table saw and after
cleaning the table saw top i
found the metal to be pitted.
I called Customer service and
their answer was to do a
return . I have to return my
new saw and wait for another.
3-4 wk i fgure for the whole
ordeal. I suggest a new top be
sent out but I would have to
return mine before they would
send out another one. Mind you
this is a brand new saw and it
dosent even have a blade on it
or a fence yet. Does anyone
know how to fix these pitts.
It would cost me $50-75 in gas
to take it to the dealer and
then the same to pick it up.
And then have to wait for
several weeks waiting on an
exchange. I wont buy from them
again but I need to fix the
junk I have . They say if its
to good to be true it usually
is. I guess I learned my
lesson.

I'd do the return if the pits
really bother you that much. I
understand the disappointment
of receiving a substandard
item, but the company has
offered to replace it.
Here are some options to
consider.
The pits are not going to
effect the use, are they?
Assuming that the pits are not
large enough to snag any stock
you will be sliding over the
table, then so what? Let it go
and use the saw.
If appearance is the problem,
then go through the steps of
applying Bond-O, the material
that automobile body repair
specialists use to finish
auto-body dings.
Or a quick fix approach would
be to use JB Weld, 2 part
epoxy and sand it down just
like you would do with
woodworking putty. JB Weld is
TOUGH stuff and cures rock
hard. |
