Im going into 8th grade and im
in cheerleading and we have

of that we have home work
every night and im going to
have extra home work because
im in algebra 1 and physical
science. Im never organized
and i all ways have to do my
home work during the hour
before its due. But this year

get a huge calendar and write
everything down.
think ahead. If it is Monday
and you have a paper due
Thursday and a game on
Wednesday- when are you going
to write it?
Start homework right after
school.
It may be a rough year. but
high school will be the same
if you want to do other things
after school.
My daughter would write out a
schedule for herself on
homework.
She had lots of reading to do
junior year- lit class. She
made sure to read a certain
amount everyday to get it all
done.
she also color coded
everything-book, notebook,
folders- everything for math
was blue, so when she had math
homework she would grab
everything blue. |

How can I stay organizedduring the school year? |
|
Every year before school
begins, I vow to keep
organized. I try to note
events, tests and homework
dates on my calendar, but I
often forget. (I keep a
planner already). How can I
keep myself motivated and
willing to do homework, and
how can I stay organized and
keep everything in track? This
year counts for a lot of
important marks and I really
want to make sure I do well.
Any thoughts/tips? Thanks! |

Make to do lists everyday and
check off items as you do
them. Have a large calendar at
home with due dates in red,
write down when you will start
a project on the calendar
too--that will avoid last
minute late nights, have a
write/erase board in your room
with what needs to get done
today and this week, if you
have a big project or
appointment say due in
October, write a reminder to
yourself on September's page.
If you have a desk in your
room, keep things filed
vertically, not horizontally.
When papers are lying flat,
things get lost. Keep yourself
motivated by rewarding
yourself when you do your
homework and get a paper
written early. Watch a little
TV, get an ice cream, hang
with friends. Make your school
work your priority and stick
to it. |
