About "GoDaddy.com" Answer

How do I get a domain nametransferred to me throughGodaddy.com?
I am supposed to be taking control of a website. The domain is registered with godaddy.com and I would like to host website there as well. Is there a way for me to have it transferred through godaddy? How do I do this and what information do I need to provide to the person who currently has the website in order to make this happen? Thanks in advance!
So you are taking over that website? The easy way would be to just get the account from the other person. You would need the account name and password, and once your logged it you could just update/change all the contact information to match yours. If you don't want to transfer the entire account, I would probably contact customer service or look at their FAQ to see if they have some option available to transfer the website from one account to another.
If I buy a domain name fromgodaddy.com how do I make itpoint to my site?
I've always bought domain names from the same site that hosts my site. But if I buy a domain from godaddy.com, how would I make it go to my website thats hosted on another site? Can you do it from the godaddy website? I just want to know if its complicated or not.
There's a control panel thing where you enter the "domain name server". I have three domains I bought through godaddy but use two different web hosts (none of them are GoDaddy). Your web hosting company control panel or FAQ will tell you the name server to enter in the GoDaddy domain name control panel. It can be a series of numbers like 92.211.35.115 or it can be letters, like zeus.host.com. Within a day or two then your new domain will be "propogated" across the Internet, pointing to the name server you entered.
How do I restart Apache on myGoDaddy.com hosting account?
I made some changes to php.ini, and I apparently need to restart Apache. I don't know how to do this. I've searched the web, and every article assumes you are the host and you can access the server directly. How do I do this remotely with a goDaddy account?
I don't think GoDaddy would give you that kind of permissions on their servers. If there is an admin control panel that allowed you to edit the php.ini file, then they should have a Save button or something like that. It may just take some time for the changes to take effect. You can always call their tech support. JR
