what IS the kittery tradingpost.. in maine? |
|
is it like a regular store or
something? or do you trade
things for other items.. or
what? |
 |
It is a large store that sells
mostly outdoor recreational
stuff, some clothing, and some
Maine related touristy type
items. It dont know that you
would call it a "regular"
store, it is not a chain there
is only one. It has a really
large gun shop. You do not
trade things there, other than
I think they will buy and
trade guns. It is called a
"trading post" because in the
past most towns of any size
had a "trading post" where you
could trade things for the
goods they had, for instance
fur trappers would trade in
their furs in exchange for
food, supplies etc.
There are many other stores
the still have "trading post"
as part of there name
throughout Maine and other
states as well. Many of them
have outdoor recreation
supplies as the heart of their
business but may sell all
kinds of items. Another
popular one that comes mind is
Clark's Trading Post in NH. |

What rifle should I buy? Smallgame, target, first time adultbuyer.? |
|
I'm 25 and want to shoot small
game and go to my local range
for target practice. I haven't
shot since I was in the Boy
Scouts back when I was around
10-13. I already have my
license and plan to go to the
Kittery Trading Post in Maine,
among other places, to check
some rifles out and was
looking for some advice.
I think I've narrowed my
choice down to a 22 LR rifle
because of A) cheap ammunition
B) little recoil and C) I can
shoot it at any local range
indoors during my miserable
Massachusetts winters.
Does anyone have suggestions
for which rifle I should check
out with that in mind? I'd
prefer spending $150 or less
though I'll go up to $200 if
it's worth it. I'm looking for
reliability and ease of use.
The only rifle I've ever shot
was a bolt action single shot
I believe. I don't want a
single shot but I did like
bolt action. I've only used
that one however so I can't
say I wouldn't like another
kind even more.
Thanks a lot in advance for
any help as I really
appreciate it. |
