How old do you have to be tobe a waitress at Chilli's orother similar restaurants? |

I'm looking for a job, mainly
at restaurants like Chilli's,
Legal Sea Foods, On the
Border, that sort of stuff.
I'm only 17 living in NJ, but
don't I have to be 18 in order
to be a waitress because they
have to serve alcohol in most
places?
I need a job desperately. |

For resturaunts that serve
alcohol, you have to be 18
usually. Sometimes at a small
resturaunt (i.e. not a chain)
they will hire younger people
as long as someone else
delivers alcohol to the table.
It's the Alcohol and Beverage
Commission that enforces this.
They send secret shoppers to
try to catch people in the
act. If caught, you'd face
charges, fines, and it would
be on your record. If you go
to a place that doesn't serve
alcohol, more than likely
they'd hire you at 17. You
won't make as much for tips,
but you can get the
experience. Also, have you
tried Sonic? I know that here
Sonic pays minimum wage plus
you usually get alot of tips.
Most servers DO NOT make
minimum wage. Good luck to

stuffy or corporate?

Foods (too corporate) and Rock
Bottom Brewery (to darn large)
- both of which are located in
the mall complex there. I'd
like to stay away from the
mall.
PLEASE, repy only if you know
the geography (as I do). We
aren't going into Boston and
suggestions outside my target
won't help.
