Well...Lets see.
You can pretty much say it all
sucks. Ever since 911 (God
rest their souls) all
restriction have gotten worse.
We cant have water anymore
because one person tried to
make a liquid bomb... Really I
think that the terrorist are
winning this battle because
how many of their air ways are
shut down every day and cause
such a disturbance to the
people who need to travel. |

It depends what you are
packing, how much wear and
tear you think it will get,
and how long you want it to
survive.
The cloth sided suitcases I've
used worked fine when I'm
taking just clothes. They
stood up well to being thrown
around by baggage handlers.
However they don't like being
over-filled, and can scuff and
eventually tear after a bit of
use.
The one i have at the moment
is 3/4 hard sided, with a
thick cloth top. I've found it
much better for longer trips
where I am taking hairdryers,
shavers, and other hard
objects as well as clothes as
these are protected from
crushing. It already has a big
dent in the corner (I've no
idea how the baggage handlers
managed this, they must have
backed a plane over it!) but
is otherwise still in good
condition and has many more
years of use in it.
Whichever you choose, I would
advise getting an expandable
case, or taking another
smaller case with you. Things
never fit back into the case
when you're packing to come
home! |
