About "McAfee" Answer

How to stop McAfee blockingand removing trojans andviruses?
I'm trying to download this program that McAfee thinks is a trojan or a virus so it automatically blocks and removes it from my computer. How do I make it so it won't block the program?
Hello. With respect, and no offence intended,McAfee blocks and removes trojans and viruses because they are a real danger to your computer. If you were to succeed in bypassing the McAfee as suggested, you could be downloading more than trojans and viruses. You could be about to unpack a file full of bugs which could simply make your hard-drive and operating system unworkable.I know,I've done it! Think of it this way.If a burglar was hammering at your door wanting to get in and burgle your home and the only thing preventing him/her entering your home is a locked front-door,would you suddenly let him/her into your home? No,of course you wouldn't,but you're quite prepared to let this packet of bugs into your computer. Madness. Big L 266
My McAfee security center istelling me I need to reinstallit. How do I do it?
I have been using McAfee security center for my computer for the last few years with no problems. Now it is telling me that in order to fix it, I need to uninstall and reinstall the program. I don't think I received a CD to install it initally. How do I go about reinstalling McAfee?
You must go to the mcafee website. Go to "home users" (not business users etc) The look for the "my account" option. You will need to sign in. Once you are signed in you will see a download link that will automatically complete the installation for you. The login details will be Username: your email Password: whatever you chose.
McAfee???????????
Um.. the McAfee Site Advisor dissappeared from my toolbar. I went to the McAfee website and downloaded it for free. It is still not there. i got rid of spybot b/c i thought that it blocked it or something, but its still not there. any suggestions?
No antivirus or antispyware protection is perfect but a good mixture of the two will help you clean your system and hopefully keep it clean. Be advised that some infections will corrupt or disable your resident security products so for completeness I have listed a few online scans that may help you: Norton - http://security.symantec.com/s scv6/defau... Panda - http://www.pandasoftware.com/p roducts/Ac... Trend - http://housecall.trendmicro.co m/ Suggest you download, update and run a full scan using the following product: http://www.superantispyware.co m/ SuperAntiSpyware will remove the majority of difficult Trojans not just the easy ones. If possible it is recommended that you load the application in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. However, if you are badly infected you might need to run SuperAntiSpyware more than once to help clean your system. If the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore. In addition I suggest you download, update & run Avira. Unlike a lot of the free antivirus applications this will give you real time protection and is very quick to load at boot up. http://www.avira.com Assuming you have some real awkward infections and the suggestions above failed to finally clean your system I suggest you download a Smitfraud removal program from: http://www.afterdawn.com/softw are/desktop_software/desktop_s ecurity/smitfraudfix.cfm Again if possible run in Safe Mode. Good luck & safe surfing. wdw
