I own a two man carpet
cleaning business. We are a
two man team and we use the
best truck mount system you
can get. Our work is excellent
and we do furniture as well as
on-site vacuum cleaner
repairs. We are commercial and
residential. We charge 3 rooms
for $69. Would you call us or
Stanly Steamer or Sears etc. |

That is a great price, but
price alone won't get you the
work. You will have to count
of word of mouth and good
reputation to bring in
business. Can you use written
testimonials from previous
customers in a flyer or
advertisements? Maybe offer
customers a discount on future
services ($10.00 off)on
referrals. You may also be
able to compete with the big
guys on flexibility-offer more
evening and weekend hours so
they don't have to take a day
off to get their carpets

Employee of a NationalFurniture Chain Being VerballyAubused...Do We Have A Case? |

My husband works for a
national furniture company in
Spokane and is being verbally
abused. Do we have a case?
*His manager swears at him and
makes VERY inappropriate
comments about his weight and
intelligence. He has also
threatened him with physical
violence. My husband called
one of those "open door
policy" tip lines for the
company SEVERAL TIMES and was
met with nothing but
retaliation. He got even more
guff from his boss for blowing
the whistle. The District
manager has also made VERY
RUDE comments as well.
*My husband was also promoted
13 weeks ago. He got the
title, responsibilities, work
load, business cards, but NO
pay raise. The person before
him got the pay increase
immediatley after accepting
the position. And when he
steped down, he got to keep
the pay. Now my husband is
doing the SAME work, NO pay.
He was also told just today
that if he wants to step down
or complains about the pay
again, he'd be fired and to
"not let the door hit his fat
ass on the way out." This
coming from the District
manager.
*My husband also has solid
proof that his boss and the
District manager are stealing.
But NO ONE in corporate is
doing anything about it.
He has over 5 witnesses,
fellow employees and customers
that can testify. NO ONE has
been fired, written up, or
anything. The District manager
who is suppose to take care of
this stuff isn't helping
either. There are several
other employees in surrounding
territories seeking legal help
as well for similar
situations. Do we have a case? |

your husband should call the
local eeoc office, start
documenting everything. and
get witnessness also. u might
have a class action lawsuit.
ur husband should be protected
by the whistle blowers act...

looking for good, regular

Does anyone know of any
businesses requiring reliable,
competitive national
deliveries?
OR, could anyone give me some
ideas as to possible clients
to approach. I have gained a
couple of regular customers
who i deliver furniture for -
i also deliver items from
Ebay, but am really looking
for regular work...ideally 2
or 3 days per week.
