Has anyone ever bought an'InterRail Global Pass Europe'from STA Travel?
I'm looking to travel from Berlin to Prague to Vienna then Budapest and have come across this deal from STA Travel. Has anyone had any experience with this ticket and if so how many days travel does the '5 in 10 days' option offer (I'm confused by the wording- is it 5 days out of 10 or 10 consecutive?). Thanks for your help.
As the others have told you, you can travel 5 days in a consecutive 10 day period. The 10 day timer starts the first time you use the pass. You get it validated at the station ticket window. There are a few things you need to know - InterRail passes are for citizens and residents of the EU. Otherwise, you need a Eurail pass instead. Even with the passes, faster trains and night trains will usually require an additional supplement/reservation charge. It is often cheaper to book individual tickets, especially if you buy them in advance to take advantage of discounted fares. http://www.interrail.net/engli sh/supplements.php It is NOT true that you need to get on a night train after midnight in order to have it count as only one day of travel. If you take a direct night train (i.e., no train change required) and it leaves after 7 pm in the evening, then you only use one day of travel. The rule is explained here: http://forum.interrail.net/vie wtopic.php?t=1024 This opens up a lot more possibilities.
