Why is it easier to seethrough peripheral vision thandirect vision in the dark?
When looking for objects at night, why is it easier to see objects if I look beside them than directly at them?
The human eye contains two types of receptors, cone cells and rod cells. The cones are mostly in the center of the eye while the rods are mostly at the periphery. The cones, in the center, are good at detecting color. The rods can't, they see in black and white, and they are for detecting motion. You may have noticed that in dark situations, there is a lack of color. So the cones are of no use in a very low light situation. You are seeing with your rods which are at the periphery and nothing in the center of your vision is helping.

That's true. They are conventional lenses which means they should be good for a year, or close to it. Of course, you could rip one in 3 months, then have to buy another one. Some people also produce more protein and calcium in their tears and the lenses could be finished in 8 or 9 months. It varies. AO Sept is a good system for the cleaning. It has to be a peroxide based system for your lenses. You will also have to get protein remover tablets. There are other good peroxide systems also, but AO Sept is the only one that comes to mind. I haven't sold any conventional lenses in over 2 years, so I'm not so familiar with the peroxide systems anymore.
